something had to be said
Woke up this morning to the news that our boys, Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev were returned in coffins. I'm beside myself and can't write much more this morning. My heart goes out to the families of our abducted soldiers who will forever remain Heroes.

even though no sign of life had been provided - even though it was obvious - even though they have been dead for a while - i feel like it happened just now..
my heart is extremely heavy right now..
@ Lirun:
Bro, I know it's easier said than done. But it's time to let go. It's time to let them rest in peace now that they're back in the homeland.
While we're at it, let's not forget Ron Arad.
Amen.
ur right man..
long time no read (ur comment)..
nice to hear from u..
Every death is sad. Why haven't you mentioned the remains of 200 Lebanese fighters - or are they non peoples?
Yes I know, it's been a while. Call it a sketchy self-imposed exile. That apart, I've been around, sailing through regular screenings. I just don't comment much what with people being over-sensitive & touchy in this day & age.
Must be after-effects of global warming ;)
:-(
ldu
everyone is entitled to a perspective.. my heart doesnt go out to those who´s only wish was my death.. sorry.. that would be too fucked up man..
please guys I'd love to hear the Israeli point of view on this. Why has Israel given back 5 LIVE soldiers for 2 dead bodied? Also they gave back 200 remains of lebanese fighters from 2006 (but the media seems a bit hazy about this fact)?
Anyway this seems like a bad bad barter to me.. i mean it's so uneven.. why did Israel do it? I know Judaism is similar to Islam in that a person's body has to be buried ASAP.. but surely a compromise can be reached with the lebanese to agree to bury the soldiers in lebanon? no? Not an authority on Judaism but I know in Islam it's best to bury someone where they died and to do it quickly and get it over and done with. Would this be acceptable to the Israeli public if the Lebanese were to honour the Israeli dead and bury them?
On the other hand, you have to be careful where to bury them.. as their graves might get ransacked by stupid people.. so I see why it's best to return to israel.. ah.. it's so messy
but i think someone really high up in israel has authorised this exchange which to me seems very stupid, especially coming from israel..
anyway i'd love to hear from you guys out there.. i'm so intrigued!
Lirun - One's man freedom fighter is another man's terrorist.
The IDF is a terrorist organisation in the eyes of millions of people.
LDU, millions of people? umm seems to me it's only the ones taught to incorrectly think that way. seems to me to be part of the "conflict eduction pedagogy" that is so often spoken of; something akin to Farfour.
